As your
innkeeper's, our goal is to make your stay as enjoyable as
possible and we thought you might like to know a bit about
us. We found Onancock by sailing into Onancock Harbor in our
Beneteau 381. We were told of the town's charm and of the
wonderful food that could be found at Armando's. All were
very true! We expected to retire to
Virginia but to the western shore of Virginia in Deltaville.
Our sailboat is chartered there and we also own a condo on
the water. But, Bob wanted to retire when Debbie received
her degree. Not known for ever being a retiring man, we
found a home and business in Montrose House that most
definitely fits our personalities. Bob brings to the
business forty years experience in country club management
and Debbie has worked along side her husband for many years,
most recently as his banquet coordinator. Both hail from
Pennsylvania originally-outside of Philadelphia. But Bob's
profession has taken them to many Eastern locations such as
Rumson, NJ; Albany, NY; Kennett Square, PA; Silver Spring,
MD; Sanibel/Captiva, Florida; and most recently, Clifton NJ
where Bob was COO of a 27 hole golf club that hosted many
major tour events, most recently the NFL Classic, a Senior
Tour event. After being retired for a
month, Bob returned to club management and is now managing
the Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club. Five years ago,
Debbie chose to pursue other interests. She returned to
school to seek a degree in elementary education. She has
recently attained her degree from Montclair State University
and now teaches second grade at a local elementary school.
The greatest asset of the Eastern Shore is the people and
the wonderfully warm sense of community. We are sure you
will notice it immediately and we know you will feel at home
in our community!
